If you would like to explore some of our area’s scenic waterways and prefer calmer sheltered water, Big Lagoon is the perfect place to paddle. Separated from the ocean by a sandy beach, Big Lagoon offers protection from ocean swell, making this tour perfect for families with children. Otters, Roosevelt elk, pelicans, herons, and many other bird species call Big Lagoon home and are frequently seen on our tours. We’ll explore this unique brackish environment as it changes from sandy beach to tule wetland, to conifer forest, in search of family friendly fun, adventure, and the lagoon’s rich wildlife.
